Once an instructional design is complete, successful classroom implementation requires both initial support through professional development and sustained just in time support as teachers work to integrate new ideas and technologies into their classroom practice.  Clusters of educators can benefit from both forms of support by joining a professional learning community.

A professional learning community (PLC) is a group of educators who come together to solve a shared problem, or to achieve a specific goal.  Experts are invited in for initial guidance.  As the group works through its goals, peer mentorships form and offer continued support.  For more information about professional learning communities and how they support teacher professional development, click here.
